"In the military, they teach you not to trust people who talk with an Australian accent."

"I think he was lying when he said you couldn't download videos. I bet it's a hidden feature. I mean, you wouldn't want people in the office downloading pornography."

"I've seen it before. A company thinks they've created a cutting edge product, yeah? But they haven't built the proper foundation so it collapses. Classic, yeah? This is a company that didn't invest in people...people with spelling skills."

"We only searched for pornography to test the program."

"It's too bad Gareth found out he couldn't download videos. I would have liked to see what else he would have searched for."

Part 1

AussieMatt: First of all, thank you for taking part in this study. I hope you have all enjoyed using Peer Impact. I'd like to start off by getting some feedback. What did you all think of Peer Impact?

Gareth: It's rubbish.

AussieMatt: Oh...can you tell me why you didn't like it?

Gareth: I couldn't find anything. It's not user friendly at all.

AussieMatt: That's strange because most of our users have expressed that it is user friendly.

Gareth: Well it's not.

AussieMatt: What were you looking for?

Gareth: I...well, something in particular.

AussieMatt: I see. Is it possible that you were looking for music from a group that's on a label which hasn't signed up with us...

Tim: What were you searching for, Gareth?

Gareth: Lesbians...sisters.

Chris: Christ!

AussieMatt: Well, that's why. You can only download audio files on Peer Impact, we don't have video files yet.

Chris: Sure you do. My mates download all sorts of videos from these P2P programs.

AussieMatt: Yes but not on ours.

Chris: Oh yea on yours too. Step aside, I'll find you something.

[Chris searches for "Beastiality"]

Gareth: See, 0 results. It's rubbish

AussieMatt: No, you can't find video files on Peer Impact.

Gareth: Let me try again.

[Gareth searches for lesbians + sisters]

Gareth: Still nothing.

David Brent: Your search was too refined, this isn't google. Remove the + sign.

AussieMatt: No, you can't...

[Gareth searches for "lesbian sisters"

Chris: Still no results. Are you sure this thing works?

AussieMatt: I can't believe you tried this for a week and still don't know how it works! You can't download ANY video files!

Gareth: Well how should you know? You told us you don't even work for Peer Impact.

Chris: I've never even heard of your company.

AussieMatt: It's part of wurldmedia. Here look...

[AussieMatt brings up the wurldmedia Website]

Gareth: The company logo has a typo...and so does the URL.

Chris: Christ these kids can't even spell and they're running a company. No wonder it doesn't work.

AussieMatt: No, it's purposely spelled that way. That IS the correct spelling of the company.

David Brent: Oh...big mistake. You should advise them to change that.

AussieMatt: You don't understand...

David Brent: That company won't get far by portraying ignorance.

AussieMatt: ...

Chris: Hmmm, try spelling lesbians with a U instead of an E. Maybe you have to spell things wrong in order to get results.

[Gareth searches for "lusbians"]

Gareth: Still 0 results.

AussieMatt: No...what are you...

Tim: Try it with the letter O, Gareth

[Gareth types in "Losbians"]

Gareth: Nope...nothing.

David Brent: Yeah, it looks like there's a lot of work to be done on this program before it's ready.
